The forced landing of a USAAF flying Fortress in 1945 ignited his enthusiasm for aviation and the American connection continued and through the 1950s when Manston was home to USAF Thunderjets and Sabres Malcolm worked for Folland aircraft at Dunsfold at the time of the Gnats trainer development and at Manston for virtually all of Air Ferry’s
Existence The American connection continued through the 1950s and since 1982 through close involvement with the 100th Bomb Group Memorial Museum at Thorpe Abbots in Norfolk .
Working with great characters of the airlines in compilation and in the organisation of Air Ferry and Invicta reunions has been a very rewarding experience . These men and women were at the heart of independent aviation.
